Stories of Impacts of the Federal Government’s Actions
Grantmakers in the Arts (GIA) is collecting stories on the negative impacts of our federal government’s recent actions upon artists, organizations, and communities. GIA will share these stories with our nation’s legislators to advocate for our nation’s cultural communities.
Please share your stories of the impacts of our federal government’s actions upon your community service.
As GIA has said, all the wealthiest philanthropic institutions and individuals combined cannot make up for government investment in the creative self-expression of our nation’s residents. Advocacy for our nation’s artists, organizations and communities is essential. Advocacy is a long-term process, and we applaud our colleagues who are collecting statistics and stories, both of which are essential to influence change.
You may choose to share your stories anonymously or to identify yourself or your organization. Your doing so is your choice. Thank you in advance for your part in our advocacy for our nation’s artists, organizations, and communities.
